Who's in the historical drama movie?

Netflix continues to add great movies to its catalog each month, and one of the latest ones is The Eagle starring Channing Tatum. The film originally came out in 2011 and received mixed reviews. Well, now that it’s on Netflix since September 2023, it’s currently in the streamer’s Top 10 Movies in the U.S. row, as of Sept. 12. So clearly, people are watching it! Who else will you see besides Tatum?

The epic historical drama is centered around his character, Marcus Aquila. His father, Flavius Aquila, and Rome’s Ninth Legion vanish in A.D. 120 as they try to track down the “revered eagle emblem,” per the synopsis. Two decades later, rumors that the golden eagle is in a tribal temple spurs Marcus into heading to Scotland to get it, and “restore his father’s tarnished honor.”

Channing Tatum takes on the lead role of Marcus Flavius Aquila. He’s most known for his roles as Duke Orsino in She’s The Man, Tyler Gage in Step Up, and Michael “Magic Mike” Lane in the Magic Mike movies. Jamie Bell stars as Esca, Marcus’ slave.
