Travis Kelce awkwardly admits touchdown heart gesture wasn't actually for Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce sent Swifties wild when he threw a heart gesture to Taylor Swift in the crowd after scoring his epic touchdown at the weekend, or so we thought. Apparently, It wasn’t meant for the singer after all. Awkward.

The celebrity couple have been providing all the adorable content for fans at the games ever since Taylor Swift was first spotted in the Chiefs crowd in September. We thought we got the cutest interaction yet, when Travis Kelce through up his ‘hand heart’ after scoring one of his two epic touchdowns against the Buffalo Bills, but it was just our fangirl minds playing tricks on us.

Travis Kelce explains the real reason behind his heart gesture

After all the excitement of the nail-biting game, Trav sat down with his brother Jason Kelce for their New Heights podcast, to discuss it all.

“The celebration went wild by you, with the little heart,” Jason said.

“I had to spread that love, baby. Always gotta spread that love, baby. There was a lot of hate pulling up to that stadium,” he told his bro, who took his shirt off in excitement at the epic touchdown.

“It’s a football game, understandably, it was the Bills, coming into their home, always gonna be a bit rowdy,” he continued. “Did it get disrespectful? 1,000%. They gave it a little extra. I’m not gonna say [what was said] ‘cos that’s what they want, I’m not gonna relay it.”

The 34-year-old then went on to explain that “some inappropriate things were said about the family,” and his teammate, Patrick Mahomes.

“I get it, coming into a hostile environment, I just had to make sure they knew it wasn’t mutual. I don’t hate you guys like they hate us,” Kelce concluded.

Taylor Swift ‘absolutely loved’ Jason’s shirtless antics

The Kelce brothers had all eyes on them at the epic game, with Trav’s touchdowns, and Jason Kelce’s shirtless celebration.

The internet went wild over the hilarious moment, and it appears Swift loved it too. However, the same can’t be said about Jason’s wife, Kylie.

Speaking about the antics on the podcast, the 36-year-old said: “I’m not going to lie, I gave Kylie a heads-up. The moment we get into the suite, I said, ‘I’m taking my shirt off and jumping out of that suite.’ And she said, ‘Jason don’t you dare.'”

He revealed that his wife told him to be on his “best behavior” as they were meeting Taylor, but it seemed like she was as entertained as much as X, formerly known as Twitter was, as Trav revealed:  “Tay said she absolutely loved you.”

The Kansas City Chiefs are one win away from playing at the Super Bowl and will be facing the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday for that all-important spot.
