Gertie (Dog)

Gertie is a 10 year old Chihuahua, rescued from an East Valley shelter by Heigl; she’s her moms oldest and dearest rescue. Going from toothless in a shelter to eating eggs at the Four Seasons, Gertrude hit the adoption jackpot. Gertie has a tongue that hangs out of her mouth, Katherine and her husband have describe her as a “[dog] that makes you laugh like that every time you look at them.”

Gracie Lou (Dog)

Gracie-Lou is described by her mom as having a heart twice her size, even though she’s small. She’s Poppy the Chihuahua’s fluffy, white twin.

Poppy is the “embodiment of joy” according to Heigl and family. She’s a fluffy, black Chihuahua loved by Katherine Heigl.

Whiskey (Cat)

Whiskey is a rescued Tabby who likes to supervise the kitchen activities.

Oscar is a 6 yr old potcake rescue from Mexico who adores the family’s kids.

Pi Piper (Dog)

Pi Piper is a shepherd-lab-chow mix, she’s a senior dog at 10 years old. Pi Piper is an emotionally conscious pup. “She’s just really sensitive to me,” Heigl says. “If I’m upset or crying she will find me, even if she’s all the way on the other side of the house. She just senses it.”

Stanley was rescued from a shelter, he now lives at Heigl’s ranch in Utah and loves it there.

Badlands Ranch

Adopted Aug 2022

Katherine Heigl launched a premium dog food brand named Badlands Ranch to feed all her hungry dogs in August 2022. Not only is she feeding her pups and her customers, she’s also feeding and helping pets in need: Heigl has pledged to donate $100k per year from Badlands Ranch to her pet advocacy non-profit, the Jason Heigl Foundation.

The Jason Debus Heigl Foundation

In 2008, Katherine Heigl and her mom Nancy established The Jason Debus Heigl Foundation, which is named after Heigl’s late brother. This foundation is a pet advocacy non-profit that focuses on spaying and neutering cats and dogs, getting vulnerable dogs adopted from high-kill shelters, giving grants, and other ways to help pets in need.

In 2023, Heigl launched her ArtWear online shop, which sells her own pet-themed designed apparel and accessories, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting her foundation for the first year.
