He is a former Force Recon Marine and Army Special Forces "Green Beret." He is a former operative with the CIA's Special Activities Division/Special Operations Group. 

Before Fame

He deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. 

Trivia

He served in numerous countries in the Middle East. He has traveled from the deserts of Oman, to the glaciers of Norway and the jungles of Sri Lanka.  He is an expert on wilderness and urban survival.
