Beloved rapper dies after being taken off life support weeks after stroke

Renowned G-funk rapper C-Knight from Long Beach who found fame in the ’90s has passed away after being on life support for weeks.

The Dove Shack member C-Knight, real name Arnez Blount, formed the Hip-Hop music group with rappers Bo-Roc and 2Scoops. The group debuted in 1994 with the song This Is the Shack on Grammy-nominated celebrity Warren G’s album Regulate…G Funk Era. A year later, The Dove Shack released their first album with the same name. Their debut album contained the hit single Summertime In The LBC. G-Funk sensation C-Knight later released his solo LP Knight Time in 2001.

Rapper C-Knight passes away at the age of 52

Rapper C-Knight has passed away after being on life support for a matter of weeks, a family member has said.

The Long Beach legend’s family revealed the 52-year-old artist was diagnosed with diabetes and suffered from a stroke while receiving dialysis in October.

C-Knight was initially resuscitated by doctors and put on life support … but he has shown no signs of progress for weeks and remained in an unresponsive state. The artist’s father, George Lee Washington Blount Jr., told TMZ, that the rapper’s stroke was a result of the complications from diabetes.

The Dove Shack member shares heart-shattering tribute

Another The Dove Shack rapper Bo-Roc, who previously shared the news of C-Knight being on life support, has shared a heart-wrenching tribute for the artist on Instagram.

He wrote: “This is like f****** nightmare I swear this s*** hurt different (sic) and I don’t want to talk about **** to nobody so please just let me be and pray for us…

“On my soul, I love you bro and I already don’t know what the **** to do wit (sic) you being gone…”

Tributes for the Long Beach legend are also pouring on X (formerly Twitter). A fan posted: “Rest in peace C-Knight, condolences to his family, friends and fans. Another rap legend gone too soon.”

Another fan posted: “I loved the West Coast melodic 90’s funk rap growing up. One of my faves. RIP C-Knight.”
